Police appeal for witnesses after vehicle stripped in theft

Police are appealing for information after a vehicle was targeted in a theft in Northallerton, where offenders spent several hours dismantling parts of the car.

The incident took place on Tannery Lane between 10pm on Friday, 8 November , and 5am the following morning.

Officers believe at least two offenders gained access to a secure compound and, over the course of around seven hours, removed the front bonnet of a vehicle and stole a number of items.

Enquiries have been ongoing since the incident, but officers are now urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.

CCTV footage from the area has been reviewed, however police say the quality is limited. The footage does show distinctive clothing worn by two individuals, which officers hope may help jog memories.

Anyone with information, or who noticed suspicious activity in the area at the time, is asked to email ben.dowson@northyorkshire.police.uk.

Alternatively, information can be passed to North Yorkshire Police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
