Police appeal after purse taken from Aldi store in Sowerby

Police are appealing for help to identify a man after a purse was taken from Aldi in Sowerby, near Thirsk.

The incident occurred at around 6.40pm on Thursday, October 23 at the store on Topcliffe Road.

A shopper accidentally left her purse on the packing shelf after completing her shopping.

Moments later, an unidentified man picked up the purse, concealed it, and walked out of the store with it.

Officers have issued a still image taken from the store’s CCTV system and are asking the public for assistance in identifying the man shown.
