Three men from Leeds have been arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal after their car was stopped in Leeming Bar in the early hours of this morning.
At around 2.30am this morning, officers on patrol in the area spotted a vehicle acting suspiciously near an industrial estate.
Police instructed the vehicle to stop and, as it did so, one of the occupants ran from the passenger side carrying a rucksack.
Officers detained all three men, including the individual who attempted to flee.
A search of the rucksack led to the seizure of a number of tools, including bolt croppers, a Stanley knife and an angle grinder.
The three men, aged 54, 30 and 27, all from Leeds, were arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and taken into custody for questioning, where they remain.
