One person died and two people were seriously injured in a crash near Northallerton this morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the fatal collision on the A168 near Thornton-le-Beans.
The crash happened at around 1.40am today (Sunday, August 31) and involved a black Mazda.
Sadly, the male driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Two other occupants were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The road remains closed in both directions while investigations are carried out, and motorists are being asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.”
