A man has been arrested after a police pursuit involving a black Mercedes-Benz near Thirsk last night.
Shortly after 6pm on Thursday, October 3, officers received information about a suspicious vehicle travelling northbound on the A1(M).
The car was later located on the A168 near Thirsk, where officers signalled for the driver to stop.
When the driver failed to do so, a pursuit began.
A short time later, police made tactical contact with the vehicle and brought it to a halt.
The 40-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and other serious offences linked to a different force area.
He and a woman who was travelling in the car were taken to hospital for treatment.
