Firefighters have been called to tackle a fire in a field at Holme-on-Swale, near Pickhill.
Crews from Ripon, Knaresborough and Northallerton were called to the incident at about 3.45pm.
Approximately 150 tyres and 40 bales are reported to be well alight in a field, affecting an area of around 20 square metres.
Crews are using hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
