Firefighters from four stations were called to a woodland fire near Kilburn on Tuesday evening.
Crews from Ripon, Bedale, Stokesley and Northallerton attended the incident at 7.53pm.
On arrival they found a deep-seated fire within the woodland.
Using knapsack sprayers, a water relay system, and wildfire tools, crews worked to extinguish the blaze and dug fire break trenches to prevent it spreading further.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately, following a number of similar incidents at the same location in recent weeks.
In a separate incident, a crew from Northallerton responded to a report of people setting a fire near the reservoir at Osmotherley at about 8.10pm last night.
This was found to be a barbecue.
Firefighters gave advice and extinguished the BBQ.
