Fire crews from Thirsk, Ripon and Northallerton responded to a combine harvester on fire yesterday.
The incident on the A168 at Sowerby, near Thirsk, was reported at about 6.45pm.
The owner had extinguished the fire using a dry powder extinguisher, with fire crews using a thermal camera and hosereel to extinguish remaining hot spots.
Fire crews then liaised with the owner and police to move the combine to a safer place.
The cause was attributed to a build-up of chaff, which caused some fire damage to the engine and wiring loom.
