A fire crew from Northallerton responded to reports of a baler on fire in Bullamoor on Friday.
The incident was reported just after 5pm.
On arrival, this was found to be a bale smouldering inside a baler.
Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, a thermal imaging camera to investigate and small tools to empty the baler chamber.
The fire caused damage to the engine of the baler, two bales and five square metres of standing crop field.
