Fire crews were called to a property on Station Road in Scruton on Monday morning following reports of a small kitchen fire.
Northallerton Fire Station responded to the incident at 11.39am, after a small ignition occurred inside the property while an external gas bottle was being changed.
On arrival, firefighters found the fire had been confined to a hob in the kitchen. Crews quickly isolated the gas cylinder and carried out a thorough inspection of the property to ensure there was no further risk.
Firefighters confirmed that no traces of a gas leak were found, and the incident was safely brought under control without the need for further action.
