Emergency services were called to a five-vehicle collision on the A1(M) at Dishforth last night.
The incident happened on the northbound carriageway at about 9.05pm.
Fire crews from Knaresborough, Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk attended the collision.
No people were trapped or seriously injured.
The crews assisted highway workers and police in making the scene safe.
