Fire crews were called to the A1(M) southbound between junctions 51 at Leeming and 50 at Baldersby ar 1.38pm today after reports that a caravan had detached from a car and struck the central reservation barrier.
Crews from Ripon and Hawes, who were covering in Richmond, attended the incident.
On arrival, police and highways officers were already at the scene and firefighters were not required to take any action.
