Rishi Sunak has congratulated a Northallerton indoor play centre’s national excellence award.
Crazy Kingdom, run by Gareth and Sarah Sewell, has been named Best Indoor Play Centre at the Association of Indoor Play Industry Awards.
The Sewells, who bought the business in 2019, bring deep experience to the venture with Sarah previously working as a nursery manager while Gareth has a background in hospitality.
During the visit, Gareth and Sarah took the Richmond and Northallerton MP on a tour of the two-storey adventure centre, showcasing its equipment, play areas and the big blue slide.
They also shared the centre’s award-winning trophy and spoke about the growth of the business in recent years.
The centre’s large café, popular with parents, provided a chance to sit down with a cup of tea and hear more about their plans for the site and from regular customers.
Mr Sunak said: “Crazy Kingdom is a real success story. Earning national recognition is an outstanding achievement, and Gareth and Sarah’s dedication shines through in every part of the centre. They’ve created a space where children can play, explore and have fun and it’s no surprise families keep coming back.”
Mr Sewell said: “It was a pleasure and an honour to invite Rishi to come to Crazy Kingdom to meet our customers their children and to see the importance that indoor play centres bring to the whole community.
“It was great that Rishi was able to see how much children love coming to Crazy Kingdom and hear about our plans for 2026.”
