Appeal after honey stolen from honesty stall in Osmotherley

Police are appealing for information after jars of honey were stolen from an honesty stall in Osmotherley.

The incident happened at around 5pm on February 10 at a food stall on South End.

North Yorkshire Police say a man arrived in a white 2008 Ford Transit van and stopped at the stall, where produce was being sold using an honesty box system.

The man took four jars of honey and appeared to place money in the honesty jar before leaving the scene. However, it was later discovered that no payment had been made.

Officers are now investigating the theft and are asking anyone who may have seen the incident or who has relevant footage to come forward.

In particular, police are keen to hear from anyone in the South End area who may have doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to email PC Colin Irvine at colin.irvine@northyorkshire.police.uk.

Alternatively, information can be passed to North Yorkshire Police by calling 101, quoting reference 12260025437.
