A section of the A19 near Thirsk was temporarily closed today after police received reports of a naked man near the busy road.
Emergency services were called to the A19, north of Thirsk, at around 10.30am following concerns for the man’s welfare.
North Yorkshire Police said officers attended immediately and quickly located the man.
A spokesperson said: “Officers attended immediately and quickly located the man. He is now receiving the help, care and support he needs from the relevant agencies.
“A section of the A19 was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident safely.
“We would like to thank motorists and members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closure was in place.”
The incident caused long delays in both directions.
