Illegal tobacco products have been seized during a joint enforcement operation in Northallerton and Thirsk.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police worked alongside Trading Standards to carry out targeted visits aimed at removing illicit goods from circulation.
The operation, led by neighbourhood policing teams in both towns, resulted in the discovery and seizure of a quantity of suspected illegal tobacco and cigarettes.
Police say such products often fail to meet UK safety standards and are frequently sold at cut-price rates, undercutting legitimate retailers and fuelling wider criminal activity.
The crackdown forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal trading and protect local businesses across the Hambleton area.
A spokesperson said officers will continue to work closely with partner agencies to keep communities safe and prevent criminals from profiting through the sale of unlawful goods.
Members of the public are being urged to report any information about the sale or storage of illegal tobacco. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
