Firefighters were called to reports of smouldering wood chippings on Yafforth Road in Northallerton.
The incident occurred at 10.22am on Sunday, when an appliance from Northallerton was mobilised to the scene.
On arrival, crews found a mound of wood chippings that was smouldering. Firefighters monitored the area to ensure there was no further risk of fire spread or reignition.
