Police continue search for missing Northallerton man Neil Kendrew

Police are continuing to search for Neil Kendrew, 63, who has been missing from Northallerton since early December.

North Yorkshire Police say Neil was last confirmed to have been seen in the town on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and officers are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Neil is described as white, around 6ft tall, of medium build, with brown hair. He wears glasses and is known to walk with a walking stick. While it is not known what clothing he was wearing when he was last seen, he usually wears jeans and a padded green coat with diamond-pattern stitching.

Police believe Neil may have travelled using public transport and say he may have links to Darlington, prompting appeals to residents and transport workers across the wider area to remain vigilant.

Officers are asking members of the public to think back to early December and consider whether they may have seen Neil or someone matching his description at bus or train stations, on public transport, or in town centres.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said enquiries are ongoing and any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital in helping to locate him.

Anyone who has seen Neil, or who has information that could help police find him, is asked to call 101, quoting reference 12260022754.

If you have an immediate sighting of Neil or believe you know where he is now, please call 999 straight away.
