Police appeal to trace man recalled to prison

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for the public’s help to locate a man who has been recalled to prison for breaching his licence conditions just one day after his release.

Timothy Horrigan, aged 42, was released from custody on 3 February 2026 but was recalled the following day after failing to comply with the terms of his licence. Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries to locate him, including in connection with a non-molestation order.

Police now believe Horrigan may be in the Northallerton, Harrogate or Ripon areas. He also has links to Hull and Bradford, where he was expected to be residing following his release from prison last week.

Horrigan is described as white, around 6ft tall, with dark-coloured greying hair and a medium build.

Officers are urging anyone who sees him, or who has information about his whereabouts, to come forward as soon as possible.

For immediate sightings, members of the public are asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 999. Information can also be passed on by calling 101.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their website.

Anyone contacting police is asked to quote reference number 12260021139.

Police have stressed that public support can play a vital role in helping locate individuals who are wanted or recalled to custody, and have thanked residents for their continued assistance.
