Police are appealing for information following the theft of a work vehicle containing high-value tools from Northallerton.
The incident happened overnight between Tuesday, January 28 and Wednesday, January 29, when a white Ford Transit panel van was stolen from a residential street in the Ashlands Close area.
The stolen vehicle is a white Ford Transit, registration FG62 KHZ, with distinctive branding on the rear, including a contact number ending in 607.
At the time of the theft, the van contained a large quantity of professional DeWalt power tools. Many of the tools are uniquely identifiable, as they have the victim’s initials written on them in black marker pen.
North Yorkshire Police are asking residents in and around Ashlands Close to check any private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage covering the overnight period for anything suspicious or showing the vehicle being driven away.
Police are also urging members of the public, particularly those working in the trade, to be vigilant if they are offered high-value tools for sale at unusually low prices or in suspicious circumstances.
Anyone who has information that could help the investigation is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police by calling 101 or emailing sylvia.matla@northyorkshire.police.uk, quoting reference 12260017414.
Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
