Fire crews from Northallerton and Stokesley, assisted by neighbouring brigades, responded to a two-vehicle collision on the A19 at around 7.20pm yesterday.
The incident took place on the southbound carriageway between the A67 junction Crathorne and the A172 at Swainby.
Firefighters used cutters, spreaders, soft protection and stabilisation blocks to assist one casualty from a vehicle.
The person was then left in the care of paramedics, and crews remained at the scene to make the area safe.
