Two cars were destroyed in a blaze in Thirsk town centre in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Fire crews from Thirsk and Northallerton, along with a fire investigation officer, were called to a car park at the rear of the Market Place at 1.46am.
The fire spread to a nearby fence, causing 100 per cent fire damage to both vehicles and the fence.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera and lighting to extinguish the blaze and make the scene safe.
