Firefighters were called out in the early hours of this morning after a person became trapped in a staircase at Sowerby, near Thirsk.
A crew from Northallerton attended at 1.15am to assist ambulance staff.
The casualty’s leg had become stuck between the spindles of the staircase.
Firefighters used a reciprocating saw to remove the spindles and release the person, who was then left in the care of paramedics.
