A horse called Hovis had to be rescued after getting stuck in a bog yesterday.
The incident at Cod Beck Reservoir near Osmotherley was reported at about 6.30am on Saturday.
A fire crew from Stokesley attended the scene.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, Hovis the horse was stuck in a bog close to the reservoir.
“He’s been out on an adventure (escaped from his enclosure) the previous night and wound up stuck with ‘neigh’ way of getting out.
“With the assistance from our colleagues from Ripon, Hovis was pulled to dry and stable land and left in the care of their owner while we hoofed it back to home station.”
