RAF Leeming is in the running to be the new home of the Red Arrows.
The Ministry of Defence has identified three air bases as a potential new home for the display team.
RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire and RAF Wittering in Cambridgeshire have been shortlisted as well as Leeming.
RAF Scampton, the current home of the display team, is to close in 2022 it was announced in July.
An assessment of the three bases to determine suitability will now be carried out.
